Celebrating 10 Years with Two of DTE’s Foundational Team Members

This month marks a truly special milestone at DTE. Our incredible teammates Björn Magnús Björnsson and Hersteinn Óskarsson are celebrating 10 years with the company!

Back in 2015, DTE was just beginning its journey into molten aluminum analysis. The team had just bought a used pottery kiln online to start melting metal—humble beginnings with big ambitions.

Hersteinn joined us to take on mechanical design, prototyping, and precision work. From rough concept builds to intricate technical detailing, he’s been central to our innovation from day one.

Bjössi came aboard to bring his software magic—something the founders had very little experience with at the time. Since then, he’s worked across every layer of our software stack, always with positivity and ingenuity.

Through years of trials, testing, setbacks, and breakthroughs, they’ve helped build not just our technology—but our culture. Their loyalty, creativity, and resilience have shaped what DTE is today.
